Our region also hosts some unique and emotional remembrance services to commemorate Anzac Day. The Mooloolaba Beach Dawn Service is a moving tribute. In a solemn and breathtaking symbolic act of remembrance, as the sun rises over the water, boat crews paddle out, laying wreaths of native Australian flowers and then raise their oars to the haunting sounds of the Last Post. The Last Post is usually accompanied by a lone horseman from the Light Horse Regiment galloping along the beach. This is one you won’t forget.
